Details

The Expo is a great way to introduce new members to the brass band genre and the Fountain City Youth Brass Academy. Brass and percussionists of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in a day of rehearsals and clinics that culminate in a side-by-side concert with the award-winning Fountain City Brass Band.

In 2024, the Brass Expo is going to be bigger and better than ever before. The event will span over two weekends packed with thrilling performances and interactive sessions. On Sunday, September 15, students will have the unique opportunity to join members of the Fountain City Brass Band in rehearsals and clinics at St. James Academy. And that’s not all! On Sunday, September 22, those who attended the first weekend will get to showcase their skills and join the Fountain City Brass Band in a concert, under the baton of none other than the world-renowned composer and conductor, Johan de Meij. The venue for the concert is the stunning Folly Theatre located in the heart of downtown Kansas City.
